Spiral Horn Safaris is based in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, two nautical miles from the border of Botswana.

As your professional hunter, outfitter and host, you will be accompanied throughout your safari by Louis van Bergen. Louis is an extremely competent and capable hunter.  He has been hunting plains game from the age of six. Louis has literally grown up around hunting and knew from an early age that being a Professional Hunter was his true calling in life.

 

Louis has experience hunting the big five. The hunting of Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Hippo became a way of life in Zambia where he spent 2008.  Several thrilling hunts and happy clients later, Louis returned to South Africa.  Louis offers hunts throughout Southern Africa. If you are seeking a specific adventure, just let him know. No hunt is too big or too small.

Our Company

Spiral Horn Safaris specializes in tailor making packages to suit your every hunting need. For the bow hunters, Buffelsvlei Game Lodge has been specially set aside to ensure your hunting success. Buffelsvlei is privately owned by Louis van Bergen and offers six perfectly situated bow blinds and more than fourteen different species available for the discerning hunter.

There are several concession areas available for Rifle hunters as well. These areas include the beautiful Gnu Ranch South Africa (very close to Buffelsvlei), 50,000 acres in the Thule Block of Botswana and 15,000 acres of prime concession land around Buffelsvlei game lodge. Spiral Horn Safaris has the ability to provide the rifle sportsmen extraordinary opportunity at about any specie of their choosing. 

These areas provide lush bushveld habitat and perfect hunting conditions.The species available range from small Steen buck antelope to the majestic Elephant bulls. Trophy quality is of the utmost importance to us and our clients. Therefore, all of the hunting areas utilized by Spiral Horn Safaris are intensively managed for trophy quality, age structure, and prime nutrition.The result of this hard work is fantastic animal quality and quantity. Louis and Spiral Horn Safaris work tirelessly to ensure your hunting success.

 

Spiral Horn Safaris offers several different means of transport to get you to and from the hunting areas. It can be arranged that you travel by motor vehicle, shuttle services or by our private plane. We will drive you up to our hunting area free of charge, however it is a 4 hour drive. Spiral Horn Safaris operates a privately owned Piper Cherokee 6 seated airplane. Flying is the preferred method of transport as it allows more time hunting and less time traveling.  We enjoy it when our clients arrive rested and ready so we do everything possible to accommodate all needs.
